Marine Corps Prayer 1

Almighty Father,
Whose command is over all and whose love never fails, make me aware of Thy presence and obedient to Thy will. Keep me true to my best self, guarding me against dishonesty in purpose and deed and helping me to live so that I can face my fellow Marines, my loved ones, and Thee without shame or fear.
Amen.

Marine Corps Prayer 2

Gracious God,
A warrior fights for those who cannot fight for themselves. As a warrior prepares for battle, there is a solemn responsibility: to know how and when and if to take life, just as a warrior must know how and when and if to risk their own life. These matters of giving and taking life are truly best left in your capable hands, O God, and yet here we are, in the midst of this tarnished and imperfect world. Your call echoes through all the confusion; from Micah and Deuteronomy, we hear your ancient claim upon our lives to do three things: to do justice, love mercy, and in all things to walk humbly with you. With your grace, these warriors can wholeheartedly and faithfully do justice by executing the duties they have been given. They can love mercy to not only be the first to fight but also to be the first to pray for what is lost in war on all sides. And as we turn from our greatest accomplishments and triumphs, may we walk humbly with you, God, where your peace passes all understanding, enfolding us for all eternity.
Amen.

Marine Corps Prayer 3

Almighty God,
Whose command is over all and whose love never fails,
make me aware of Thy presence and obedient to Thy will. Keep me true to
my best self, guarding me against dishonesty in purpose and deed and
helping me to live so that I can face my fellow Marines, my loved ones and
Thee without shame or fear. Protect my family. Give me the will to do
the work of a Marine and to accept my share of responsibilities with vigor
and enthusiasm. Grant me the courage to be proficient in my daily
performance. Keep me loyal and faithful to my superiors and to the duties
my country and the Marine Corps have entrusted to me. Make me
considerate of those committed to my leadership. Help me to wear my
uniform with dignity and let it remind me daily of the traditions, which
I must uphold. If I am inclined to doubt, steady my faith; if I am tempted, make me strong to resist; if I should miss the mark, give me courage to try
again. Guide me with the light of truth and grant me wisdom by which I
may understand the answer to my prayer.
Amen.

Marine Corps Prayer 4

O God,
You must know in your infinite wisdom that Sailors and Marines are
the most unique creatures of all your creation. Sailors and Marines come
in all shapes, colors, sizes, and both genders; we are serious, happy,
frustrated, professional, and sacrificing. You have called us from a
humdrum world and challenged us to go the extra mile and be a part of a
great team. Help us to always do our best, teach us to always do the
right thing–it will gratify some and astonish the rest.
Amen.

Marine Corps Prayer 5

Dear God,
In a world that’s racked with war,
Let me think of the coming years
When the cannon’s core has ceased its roar,
And the nations dry their tears.
Keep Thou my heart unblemished.
Give me strength to wait release;
And let me live as a man should live
In a fight for the God of Peace.
O Father, grant that I may last
To build the world again;
To know when pestilence is past
A brotherhood of men.
Bless Thou the aged with Thy light;
Protect our troubled youth;
And let me fight as a man should fight
In a war for the God of Truth.
Thy will be done, if Thou decree
That I shall die afield.
But let me go face to the foe
Sustain me, lest I yield.
Let no man cry he saw me fly
The battle’s agony.
And let me die as a man should die
In a fight for Liberty.
Amen.
