May 6 Prayer 1

Lord our God,
We look to you and to Jesus Christ our Savior. Continually renew your grace and your power in our lives, we pray. Renew your grace and power, that we may have light even in dark and distressing times and through the Savior may overcome as we wait faithfully for your kingdom. Help us to be ready to take anything upon ourselves, to serve you with body and soul, with all we have and are. May we belong to the hosts of those who go to meet you, who wait for your coming kingdom, which will bring comfort to the world and to all people who now suffer and grieve. O Lord our God, have mercy on our times and on our world. Grant that with thanks and praise we may soon see the signs of the fulfillment of your promises.

May 6 Prayer 2

Jesus,
we receive your grace and believe that you have purified our hearts but we are in great need to be renewed and remade into your image. Open space in our hearts to welcome fully others that think differently than we. Help us to welcome unfamiliar places as an invitation to discovery. ‘May everything we are become an offering of our full selves and everything we do come from our deepest centre.’ ST. Therese of lisieux ‘May we become like green flourishing olive trees in the house of the Lord reflecting your glory.’ Ready to be pressed and poured out for others this day.

Lord,
Thank you for your abundant, abounding grace. Thank you that we don’t have to earn a drop of the mighty river of grace that flows freely for us today. Thank you for the unexpected, unmerited favor you’ve showered on my life. Help me put myself in the path of your love and grace. Help me not neglect the disciplines I need to meet with you regularly and to drink from the water of life. Thank you for your rich love.

God,
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time, enjoying one moment at a time; accepting hardship as a pathway to peace; taking, as Jesus did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; trusting that You will make all things right if I surrender to Your will; so that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with You forever in the next.

Good morning,
Lord! Today’s a new day, a chance for a new start. Yesterday is gone and with it any regrets, mistakes, or failures I may have experienced. It’s a good day to be glad and give thanks, and I do, Lord. Thank you for today, a new opportunity to love, give, and be all that you want me to be.

Father in heaven,
I stand before You today in Your omnipotent presence to ask that You grant me strength. I want You to give me the strength to power through all of the tasks today — whether little or big. It is by Your will that I live oh Lord. And I know it is also by Your will I will not go weak today. I will not go lazy nor will I will fail to do all things set before me because You strengthen me. Thank You for Your everlasting presence Lord and in Jesus’ name, I pray.

Lord,
I ask for your guidance today as I set out for better opportunities than yesterday. Do not let me stray from my path for You’re my shepherd, oh Lord. Let Your staff prevent me from any error and let Your eyes watch over me and protect me from all danger. You’re the only God and no matter is too big for You Lord. So, let flattened all issues that may plague my day.

God,
As I go to work today, let me work by Your words, oh Lord. I want You to be my Rock and my Fortress and protect from all challenges that I might face today. From going to my workplace to the work itself and even leaving it, Lord, guide my actions and allow me great success. Walk with my decisions, Father, so that I may reap the fruits of my labour. I exalt Your name for the performed miracles and in Jesus’ name, I pray.
