In the old Catholic pattern of weekday devotions, Tuesday belongs to the holy angels. Scripture says God gives his angels “charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways,” and the Church teaches that each of us has a guardian angel. Tuesday is a day to thank them, and to ask for their help.
Historical Context
A Tuesday Morning Prayer
Lord, thank you for this Tuesday.
I offer you today’s work, conversations and problems.
Send your angels to guard me and the people I love.
Help me keep going with patience and good humour,
and to finish what I started yesterday.
Amen.
The Guardian Angel Prayer
Angel of God, my guardian dear,
to whom God’s love commits me here,
ever this day be at my side,
to light and guard, to rule and guide.
Amen.
A Prayer to St Michael
St Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host,
by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits
who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.
A Tuesday Evening Prayer
Lord, thank you for getting me through today.
Forgive what I did wrong, and bless what I did right.
Let your angels keep watch while I sleep.
Amen.
Best Times for This Prayer

Scripture Connection
“For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.” — Psalm 91:11
“All thy ways” includes a Tuesday commute and a Tuesday meeting. God’s care isn’t reserved for dramatic moments. It covers the ordinary middle of the week too.
