Disciples Prayer 1

Our Father who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our debts as we also have forgiven our debtors. And not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. And some manuscripts add, “For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.
Amen.

Disciples Prayer 2

Father,
Thank You for teaching us that prayer is worship. Thank You for teaching us to humble ourselves and submit all our heart’s longings to Your glory, to the advance of Your kingdom, and to the unfolding of Your will. And we know, God, that when we pray like that, You will meet our needs. You will forgive our sins, and You will protect us. And we will give You all the glory. Make us people of prayer not that You might be shaped to our will, but that we might be shaped to Yours; not that You might fulfill the desires of our kingdom, but that we might conform to Yours; not that You might bless us, but that we might hallow You. And so loving Father, give us bread to feed our souls, give us pardon for our sins, give us strength and protection unto glory as we submit to Your divine purpose. In Christ’s great name.
Amen.

Disciples Prayer 3

Creator,
We give you thanks for all you are and all
you bring to us for our visit within your creation.
In Jesus, you place the Gospel in the Centre of this
Sacred Circle through all of which all creation is
related. You show us the way to live a generous and
compassionate life. Give us your strength to live
together with respect and commitment as we grow
in your spirit, for you are God, now and forever.
Amen.

Disciples Prayer 4

Celebrant,
May Almighty God, the Father of
our Lord Jesus Christ, who has given us a new
birth by water and the Holy Spirit, and bestowed
upon us the forgiveness of sins, keep us in
eternal life by his grace, in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Amen.

Disciples Prayer 5

Loving Father,
Open our hearts to hidden realities:
your love for all people,
your presence in the community,
your call to justice and peace.
May the sacraments stir in us
that same love for those with whom we worship
and all members of our human family.
Christ Jesus,
healing the sick,
welcoming the stranger,
assisting the poor and vulnerable.
May the sacraments remind us
of your love and self-giving,
which we strive to imitate.
Holy Spirit,
Make visible to our eyes what is invisible:
your call to your people,
your summons to live our faith daily
as witnesses of justice and peace.
May the sacraments move us
to engage in love-inspired action
that transforms us and the world.
Amen.

Disciples Prayer 6

Lord God,
Almighty and everlasting Father,
you have brought us in safety to this new
day: Preserve us with your mighty power,
that we may not fall into sin, nor be overcome
by adversity; and in all we do, direct us to
the fulfilling of your purpose; through Jesus
Christ our Lord.
Amen.
