Daily Devotional – Revelation 4:11 – April 11, 2023

“Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.”
Revelation 4:11

How often do you stop to reflect on the true power and glory of our God? Honestly, for me it’s not that often. Many times my prayer life is more focused on the things that I want God to give me or do for me. Much less often do I spend time simply worshiping God for the sole purpose of recognizing his grandeur and majesty. He deserves to be worshiped simply for his existence. He is all powerful and all knowing, yet purely loving and kind.

He alone created all things – heaven, earth, and everything in between. He alone knows each and every one of us down to the number of hairs on our head. And most incredibly of all, even with all that power, all that wisdom, and all majesty in heaven, He cares deeply for every single one of us. How amazing is that?

The God that made everything, every grain of sand on the beach and every star in the sky, loves you. And not only does he love you, He wants you to live with Him forever. He wants to have a relationship so badly that he would sacrifice a piece of his own self, his son born of flesh and blood, that you could come to him, know him, and live with him.

When we take time to meditate on the awesome power of God, we remember our place in the world, we are humbled, and we are filled with gratitude for the amazing grace and steadfast love that he has richly blessed us with. Take some time today, and every day, just to remember how amazing our God is, how big, how powerful, how wise, how loving he is. And remind yourself how precious the gift of his love is.

Prayer:

God,
You alone are worthy of praise. You alone are good. You alone are the desire of my heart. I worship and adore you and you alone. Thank you for your love, grace, and mercy. Thank you for knowing me and all of my faults, yet still loving me.
In Jesus Name,
Amen.
