“For he who avenges blood remembers them.
He doesn’t forget the cry of the afflicted.” – Psalms 9:12
When I read this verse, I am reminded of the deep compassion and justice that God holds for the suffering and oppressed.
Psalm 9:12 reminds us that God is attentive to the cries of those who are afflicted and does not overlook their pain. This verse reassures us that God remembers those who have been wronged and promises to act in justice on their behalf. As Christians, we are called to reflect this same compassion and advocacy for those who are suffering in our own communities, ensuring that we stand up for justice and support those in need.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, thank You for being a God who hears the cries of the afflicted and avenges the wrongs done to them. Help us to be instruments of Your justice and compassion in the world, actively caring for those who are hurting. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
