“He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground, and he took the seven loaves. Having given thanks, he broke them, and gave them to his disciples to serve, and they served the multitude.” – Mark 8:6
When I read this verse, I picture a vast crowd of people, all hungry and waiting, as Jesus takes the ordinary loaves and, through gratitude and faith, transforms them into an abundant feast.
Mark 8:6 reminds us of the power of thankfulness and the importance of sharing what we have with others. Jesus took the seven loaves, gave thanks, and then served the multitude through His disciples, demonstrating that even the smallest offerings can be multiplied when given with a grateful heart. As Christians, we can apply this by recognizing the blessings we have, giving thanks for them, and being willing to share our resources and talents with those in need.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, help me to be thankful for the provisions in my life and to share them generously with others. May I trust in Your ability to multiply my small offerings for Your glory. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
