“When he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and bowed down to him,” – Mark 5:6
When I read this verse, I imagine a man desperate for hope, casting aside his inhibitions and running towards the one person who can bring him healing and restoration.
Mark 5:6 reveals a powerful act of humility and desperation as this man, tormented by demons, recognizes Jesus as his only source of salvation. His actions remind us that no matter our circumstances, we should approach Jesus with the same urgency and reverence, seeking His presence in times of trouble. As Christians, we can apply this by not allowing our pride or fear to hinder us from coming to Jesus in prayer and surrendering our burdens to Him.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, help me to run to You with the same eagerness and humility as the man in this verse. May I always recognize Your power to heal and restore in my life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
