Daily Devotional – Mark 10:40 – April 29, 2026

“but to sit at my right hand and at my left hand is not mine to give, but for whom it has been prepared.”” – Mark 10:40

When I read this verse, I imagine the disciples vying for positions of honor, caught in the worldly desire for status and recognition.

Mark 10:40 reflects Jesus’ teaching on humility and the divine order of authority. He reminds us that positions of honor in God’s kingdom are not determined by human ambition but are prepared by God Himself. As Christians, we are called to serve rather than seek power, finding joy in humility and trusting that God has a unique purpose for each of us.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, help me to embrace humility and serve others without seeking recognition. May I trust in Your divine plan for my life and find contentment in the roles You have prepared for me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
