“Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination?
No, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush.
Therefore they will fall among those who fall.
When I visit them, they will be cast down,” says Yahweh.” – Jeremiah 6:15
When I read this verse, I picture a people so entrenched in their ways that they can no longer recognize the weight of their actions. Jeremiah 6:15 reflects a profound spiritual blindness, where sin is normalized, and shame is absent. This warning serves as a reminder for us to remain vigilant against complacency in our faith and to recognize the importance of repentance. As Christians, we are called to hold ourselves accountable and to seek God’s guidance in our lives, ensuring that we remain sensitive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, help me to remain sensitive to my heart and actions, that I may never lose sight of what is right in Your eyes. Grant me the courage to repent and turn back to You when I stray. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
