“and the golden mice, according to the number of all the cities of the Philistines belonging to the five lords, both of fortified cities and of country villages, even to the great stone, on which they set down Yahweh’s ark. That stone remains to this day in the field of Joshua of Beth Shemesh.” – 1 Samuel 6:18
When I read this verse, I imagine the profound moment when the Ark of the Covenant was returned, resting upon a great stone—a symbol of God’s presence and the reverence due to Him.
**1 Samuel 6:18** reminds us of the significance of the places where we encounter God and the importance of honoring Him in our lives. Just as the Philistines acknowledged the presence of God through their offerings, we too are called to recognize and celebrate God’s work in our lives. We can apply this by setting aside time and space in our daily routines to reflect on God’s faithfulness and to offer our gratitude, ensuring that our hearts remain aligned with His purpose.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, help me to recognize Your presence in my life and to honor You in all that I do. May I create sacred spaces in my heart and home where I can experience Your love and grace. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
