Daily Devotional – 1 Samuel 10:25 – April 28, 2026

“Then Samuel told the people the regulations of the kingdom, and wrote it in a book, and laid it up before Yahweh. Samuel sent all the people away, every man to his house.” – 1 Samuel 10:25

When I read this verse, I picture Samuel standing before the people, holding the regulations of the kingdom, a tangible reminder of God’s authority and order in their lives.

1 Samuel 10:25 reflects a pivotal moment in Israel’s history, where Samuel establishes the guidelines for the new monarchy. This act signifies not just the transition to a king, but also the importance of recognizing God’s sovereignty in governance. For Christians, it serves as a reminder that God’s Word should be the foundation of our lives, guiding us in our decisions and relationships.

As believers, we can apply this verse by taking time to study and meditate on Scripture, allowing it to shape our understanding of God’s will. We should also commit to living out these truths in our daily actions and decisions, ensuring that our lives reflect the kingdom values that Samuel outlined.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, help me to embrace Your Word as the guiding principle in my life. May I seek Your kingdom and righteousness in all that I do. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
