Daily Devotional – Numbers 13:32 – December 10, 2025

“They brought up an evil report of the land which they had spied out to the children of Israel, saying, “The land, through which we have gone to spy it out, is a land that eats up its inhabitants; and all the people who we saw in it are men of great stature.” – Numbers 13:32

When I read this verse, I picture a group of explorers returning from a journey, their hearts weighed down by fear and doubt, their words casting shadows over hope.

**Numbers 13:32** paints a vivid picture of how fear can distort our perception of reality. The spies, overwhelmed by the challenges they faced, reported an exaggerated view of the land, leading the Israelites to doubt God’s promises. This serves as a reminder that when we focus on our fears rather than on God’s faithfulness, we can miss out on the blessings He has in store for us.

As Christians, we can apply this lesson by choosing to trust in God even when circumstances seem daunting. Instead of allowing fear to shape our narrative, we can seek God’s perspective, remembering that He is bigger than any challenge we face. By focusing on His promises and goodness, we can encourage ourselves and others to take steps of faith rather than retreating in fear.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, help me to see beyond my fears and to trust in Your promises. May I speak words of faith and encouragement, reflecting Your truth rather than my doubts. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
