“‘where their worm doesn’t die, and the fire is not quenched.’” – Mark 9:44
When I read this verse, I picture a stark contrast between the eternal consequences of our choices and the fleeting nature of earthly temptations. Mark 9:44 warns us of the seriousness of sin and the reality of separation from God. It calls us to reflect on the eternal implications of our actions and to choose a path that leads to life rather than destruction. As Christians, we are encouraged to examine our lives and prioritize our relationship with God, understanding that each choice we make has eternal significance.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, help us to live with an awareness of the eternal consequences of our choices. May we seek Your guidance daily to turn away from sin and draw closer to You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
