Daily Devotional – Mark 6:45 – June 23, 2025

“Immediately he made his disciples get into the boat, and to go ahead to the other side, to Bethsaida, while he himself sent the multitude away.” – Mark 6:45

When I read this verse, I imagine the scene of Jesus standing on the shore, guiding His disciples with a firm yet loving hand as they prepare to embark on their journey across the water.

**Mark 6:45** Jesus’ command to His disciples to get into the boat and go ahead signifies His authority and the necessity of following His direction, even when the path ahead is uncertain. This moment emphasizes the importance of obedience and trust, as the disciples were sent out into the unknown while Jesus took care of the crowd. Similarly, Christians today are called to step out in faith, trusting that Jesus is with them, even when they cannot see the outcome.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, help me to trust in Your guidance as I navigate the waters of my life. May I find peace in knowing You are with me, even when the journey feels uncertain. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
