“The scribes and the Pharisees, when they saw that he was eating with the sinners and tax collectors, said to his disciples, “Why is it that he eats and drinks with tax collectors and sinners?”” – Mark 2:16
When I read this verse, I picture Jesus surrounded by those society deemed unworthy, sharing a meal and laughter, demonstrating the essence of grace and acceptance.
**Mark 2:16** The scribes and Pharisees questioned Jesus’ choices, reflecting a common human tendency to judge others based on appearances or societal status. Yet, Jesus’ willingness to associate with sinners highlights His mission to reach the lost and offer redemption. As Christians, we are called to follow His example, embracing those who are marginalized and extending love and compassion to everyone, regardless of their past.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, help me to see others through Your eyes and to reach out with love to those who feel unworthy. May I reflect Your grace in my actions and conversations today. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
