Daily Devotional – Mark 14:6 – December 11, 2024

“But Jesus said,
“Leave her alone. Why do you trouble her? She has done a good work for me.” – Mark 14:6

When I read this verse, I envision a scene filled with tension, where a humble act of devotion is met with criticism.

Mark 14:6 reminds us that Jesus defends the sincere acts of love and service rendered to Him, even when they may be misunderstood by others. This teaches us that our good works, done out of genuine love for Christ, hold great value in His eyes, regardless of how they may be perceived by the world. As Christians, we can apply this by encouraging others in their acts of service and not allowing the opinions of others to diminish our desire to honor God through our actions.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, help me to recognize the beauty in acts of love and service, both in my life and the lives of others. May I be quick to defend the good works done for You and to appreciate the heart behind them. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
