Daily Devotional – Mark 14:11 – August 13, 2025

“They, when they heard it, were glad, and promised to give him money. He sought how he might conveniently deliver him.” – Mark 14:11

When I read this verse, I picture the dark intrigue unfolding among those who sought to betray Jesus, their excitement igniting in the shadows as they plotted against Him.

**Mark 14:11** reveals the sinister joy in the hearts of those who were willing to betray Jesus for money. It serves as a stark reminder of the lengths to which people will go for personal gain, even at the expense of truth and righteousness. As Christians, we must be vigilant against the temptations of the world that may lead us to compromise our faith or betray our values for fleeting rewards.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, help me to remain steadfast in my commitment to You and to resist the temptations that lead to betrayal of my faith. May I always choose integrity over gain, walking in Your truth. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
