““Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem. The Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and the scribes. They will condemn him to death, and will deliver him to the Gentiles.” – Mark 10:33
When I read this verse, I imagine the heavy hearts of the disciples as they follow Jesus towards Jerusalem, fully aware of the impending suffering He will face.
Mark 10:33 reminds us of the profound sacrifice that Jesus willingly accepted for our sake. This moment foreshadows His ultimate betrayal and suffering, highlighting His unwavering commitment to fulfill God’s plan for humanity’s redemption. As Christians, we are called to embrace our own journeys of faith, even when they lead us through trials and challenges, knowing that our struggles can bring us closer to Christ and serve a greater purpose.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, thank You for the incredible sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus, who faced suffering for our salvation. Help us to follow Him faithfully, embracing our own paths with courage and trust in Your plan. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
