“and have cast lots for my people,
and have given a boy for a prostitute,
and sold a girl for wine, that they may drink.” – Joel 3:3
When I read this verse, I envision a world where human lives are traded and exploited for temporary pleasures, painting a stark picture of desperation and moral decay.
Joel 3:3 highlights the grave injustices that occur when society prioritizes selfish desires over the dignity of human life. It serves as a reminder of the value God places on each person, urging us to recognize the suffering and exploitation that still exist today. As Christians, we are called to stand against injustice, advocate for the vulnerable, and treat every individual with the love and respect they deserve.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, help us to see the value in every person and give us the courage to stand against exploitation and injustice in our world. May we be instruments of Your love and compassion, working to uplift those who are marginalized. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
