Daily Devotional – Jeremiah 5:6 – April 17, 2025

“Therefore a lion out of the forest will kill them, a wolf of the evenings will destroy them, a leopard will watch against their cities. Everyone who goes out there will be torn in pieces, because their transgressions are many, and their backsliding has increased.” – Jeremiah 5:6

When I read this verse, I envision a scene of vulnerability and danger, where a once-safe city is now under threat from relentless predators.

Jeremiah 5:6 reminds us of the consequences of straying from God’s path. The imagery of fierce animals symbolizes the dangers that come from ignoring the divine guidance and protection God offers us. As Christians, we can apply this verse by remaining vigilant in our spiritual lives, seeking God’s direction in our decisions, and repenting from any ways we may have strayed. By doing so, we not only safeguard ourselves but also encourage others to stay on the right path.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, help us to recognize the dangers of disobedience and strengthen our resolve to follow Your will. May we remain close to You, seeking Your guidance in all things. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
