“I will go to the great men, and will speak to them; for they know the way of Yahweh, and the law of their God.” But these with one accord have broken the yoke, and burst the bonds.” – Jeremiah 5:5
When I read this verse, I envision a seeker of wisdom, approaching those who have walked closely with God, longing for guidance and understanding amidst the chaos of life.
Jeremiah 5:5 speaks to the importance of seeking counsel from those who are knowledgeable about God’s ways. It highlights a stark contrast between seeking divine wisdom and the rebellion that often leads us astray. As Christians, we are called to turn to wise mentors and leaders who can help us navigate our faith journey, while also recognizing the dangers of dismissing God’s laws and guidance.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, help me to seek out wise counsel and to remain open to Your teachings. May I never break the bonds of Your truth, but instead embrace the freedom that comes from following Your ways. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
