“They have made it a desolation.
It mourns to me, being desolate.
The whole land is made desolate,
because no one cares.” – Jeremiah 12:11
When I read this verse, my heart is heavy as I imagine the desolation and mourning that Jeremiah experienced over the state of the land. It is a stark reminder of the consequences of neglect and lack of care.
Jeremiah 12:11 reminds us of the importance of caring for the world around us, not just physically but also spiritually. As Christians, we are called to be stewards of God’s creation and to show love and compassion to those in need. We must actively seek to prevent desolation in all its forms by being attentive and caring in our actions.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, help us to have hearts that are moved with compassion for those in need. May we be diligent in caring for the world around us and showing love to others, so that desolation and neglect may be replaced with restoration and hope. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
