Daily Devotional – Habakkuk 2:17 – April 29, 2025

“For the violence done to Lebanon will overwhelm you, and the destruction of the animals, which made them afraid; because of men’s blood, and for the violence done to the land, to every city and to those who dwell in them.” – Habakkuk 2:17

When I read this verse, I am reminded of the profound impact that human actions can have on the environment and the communities around us. The imagery of violence and destruction evokes a sense of urgency for stewardship and responsibility.

**Habakkuk 2:17** speaks to the consequences of violence and injustice, highlighting how the harm inflicted upon the land and its inhabitants reverberates throughout creation. This serves as a call for us to reflect on our actions and their effects on the world. As Christians, we are called to be agents of peace and restoration, promoting justice and care for creation in our daily lives.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, help us to recognize the weight of our actions and to strive for peace and justice in all we do. May we be mindful stewards of the earth and advocates for those who suffer from violence and oppression. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
