Daily Devotional – Genesis 7:8 – February 26, 2025

“Clean animals, unclean animals, birds, and everything that creeps on the ground” – Genesis 7:8

When I read this verse, I imagine the vast diversity of God’s creation, carefully preserved in Noah’s ark. Genesis 7:8 highlights the distinction between clean and unclean animals, which reminds us of God’s order and the importance of holiness in our lives. Just as Noah was called to separate and protect certain creatures, we too are called to discern what is good and pleasing to God, striving to live a life that reflects His righteousness.

Christians can apply this verse by being mindful of the influences and choices in their daily lives. We can seek to surround ourselves with what is good and beneficial, distinguishing between what draws us closer to God and what may lead us astray. By embracing God’s standards in our decisions, we cultivate a life that honors Him and reflects His character.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, help me to recognize the clean and unclean in my life, guiding my choices and relationships. May I strive to live in a way that is pleasing to You, reflecting Your love and holiness. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
