“Yahweh saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of man’s heart was continually only evil.” – Genesis 6:5
When I read this verse, I am reminded of the deep sorrow that must have filled God’s heart to see the extent of wickedness and evil in the world.
Genesis 6:5 reveals the pervasive nature of sin and the fallen condition of humanity. As Christians, we can use this verse as a reminder of the importance of guarding our hearts and minds against sinful thoughts and actions. We are called to live lives that honor God and strive for righteousness in all that we do.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, help us to be vigilant in guarding our hearts and minds against the influences of evil. May we seek Your guidance and strength to live lives that bring glory to Your name. Amen.
