“When the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell on Abram. Now terror and great darkness fell on him.” – Genesis 15:12
When I read this verse, I imagine the overwhelming sense of darkness and fear that Abram must have experienced as he encountered this deep sleep and terrifying darkness falling upon him.
Genesis 15:12 reminds us that even in moments of darkness and fear, God is present with us. Christians can apply this verse in their lives by trusting in God’s presence and sovereignty, even when circumstances seem overwhelming. Just as God was with Abram in his time of darkness, He is with us in our moments of fear and uncertainty.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, in moments of darkness and fear, help us to trust in Your presence and sovereignty. May we find peace in knowing that You are with us always, guiding us through every trial. Amen.
