Daily Devotional – Genesis 13:10 – November 06, 2025

“Lot lifted up his eyes, and saw all the plain of the Jordan, that it was well-watered everywhere, before Yahweh destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, like the garden of Yahweh, like the land of Egypt, as you go to Zoar.” – Genesis 13:10

When I read this verse, I picture Lot standing atop a hill, gazing at the lush landscape before him, unaware of the impending destruction of the cities below.

**Genesis 13:10** reminds us that even in the midst of apparent prosperity and beauty, danger can lurk beneath the surface. Lot chose the well-watered plains of Jordan, drawn by their beauty, but it ultimately led him toward a life surrounded by wickedness. As Christians, we are called to seek God’s guidance in our choices, recognizing that not all that glitters is gold and that true prosperity lies in following His will.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, help me to see beyond the surface and to seek Your wisdom in all my decisions. May I trust in Your plan for my life, knowing that true abundance comes from following You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
