Daily Devotional – Amos 2:4 – November 28, 2024

“Yahweh says:
“For three transgressions of Judah, yes, for four,
I will not turn away its punishment;
because they have rejected Yahweh’s law,
and have not kept his statutes,
and their lies have led them astray,
after which their fathers walked;” – Amos 2:4

When I read this verse, I envision a loving parent who must discipline a child for their repeated missteps, not out of anger but out of a desire for correction and growth.

**Amos 2:4** reminds us that God’s justice is rooted in His love for us, and neglecting His law leads us away from the truth. The Israelites’ rejection of divine guidance serves as a cautionary tale, highlighting the consequences of straying from God’s path. As Christians, we are called to actively engage with Scripture, reflect on our actions, and align our lives with God’s teachings to avoid the pitfalls of deception and waywardness.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, help me to remain steadfast in Your Word and to seek Your guidance in all areas of my life. May I reject the lies that lead me astray and embrace the truth of Your statutes. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
