“Yahweh says:
“For three transgressions of Tyre, yes, for four,
I will not turn away its punishment;
because they delivered up the whole community to Edom,
and didn’t remember the brotherly covenant;” – Amos 1:9
When I read this verse, I am reminded of the importance of honoring covenants and relationships with others, and the consequences of betraying trust.
Amos 1:9 highlights the seriousness of breaking promises and failing to remember commitments made to others. As Christians, we are called to uphold our word, show loyalty, and value the relationships God has placed in our lives.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, help us to always honor our commitments and remember the importance of keeping our word. May we be faithful in our relationships and uphold the values of integrity and trust. Amen.
