“Yahweh says:
“For three transgressions of the children of Ammon, yes, for four,
I will not turn away its punishment;
because they have ripped open the pregnant women of Gilead,
that they may enlarge their border.” – Amos 1:13
When I read this verse, I am struck by the severity of injustice and the deep pain inflicted upon the vulnerable.
**Amos 1:13** highlights God’s call for accountability in the face of brutal actions, particularly towards those who cannot defend themselves. It serves as a stark reminder that God does not overlook the suffering caused by our transgressions, especially when they involve the innocent. As Christians, we are called to stand against injustice and to protect the vulnerable in our communities, ensuring that our actions reflect compassion and righteousness.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, help us to recognize the plight of the vulnerable and to act justly in our interactions with others. May we be instruments of Your peace and protectors of those who suffer. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
