Daily Devotional – 2 Chronicles 10:6 – July 15, 2024

“King Rehoboam took counsel with the old men, who had stood before Solomon his father while he yet lived, saying, “What counsel do you give me about how to answer these people?”” – 2 Chronicles 10:6

When I read this verse, I am reminded of the importance of seeking wise counsel before making decisions, just as King Rehoboam did when faced with a difficult situation.

2 Chronicles 10:6 highlights the value of seeking advice from those who have experience and wisdom, rather than solely relying on our own understanding. As Christians, we can apply this verse by seeking counsel from trusted mentors, pastors, or older believers when faced with important decisions or challenges in our lives. Their insights and perspectives can provide clarity and guidance that we may not have on our own.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, help us to humble ourselves and seek wise counsel when we are uncertain or facing difficult decisions. Guide us to those who can offer godly wisdom and insight, that we may make choices that align with Your will. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
