Daily Devotional – 1 Thessalonians 4:4 – March 25, 2026

“that each one of you know how to control his own body in sanctification and honor,” – 1 Thessalonians 4:4

When I read this verse, I imagine a person standing firm amidst a storm, choosing to remain anchored in their values and convictions.

1 Thessalonians 4:4 reminds us that self-control and honor are essential aspects of our Christian walk. In a world filled with temptations and distractions, it is crucial to understand that sanctification—a process of being set apart for God’s purposes—requires discipline and intentionality. By controlling our bodies and desires, we reflect the holiness God calls us to embody.

As Christians, we can apply this verse by actively seeking accountability in our relationships and prayer life, ensuring we make choices that honor God and ourselves. Setting boundaries and being mindful of what we consume—whether it be in entertainment, conversations, or physical indulgences—empowers us to live in a way that is pleasing to God and beneficial to our personal growth.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, help me to exercise self-control and honor in all aspects of my life. May I reflect Your sanctification in my actions and choices each day. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
