“The cook took up the thigh, and that which was on it, and set it before Saul. Samuel said, “Behold, that which has been reserved! Set it before yourself and eat; because for the appointed time has it been kept for you, for I said, ‘I have invited the people.’” So Saul ate with Samuel that day.” – 1 Samuel 9:24
When I read this verse, I imagine the moment of anticipation as Saul is presented with a meal that has been specially set aside for him. It’s a moment that signifies both honor and destiny, as the food reserved for him represents God’s divine plan unfolding in his life.
1 Samuel 9:24 reminds us that God often prepares special blessings for us at just the right time. Saul’s meal was not just food; it was a symbol of his anointing and the calling God had placed on his life. Likewise, Christians can find comfort in knowing that God has good things set aside for them, waiting for the perfect moment to be revealed, encouraging us to trust in His timing and His plans for our lives.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, thank You for the blessings You have set aside for me, even when I cannot see them. Help me to trust in Your perfect timing and to remain patient as I wait for Your plan to unfold. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
