“Then Saul said to the people who were with him, “Count now, and see who is missing from us.” When they had counted, behold, Jonathan and his armor bearer were not there.” – 1 Samuel 14:17
When I read this verse, I am struck by Saul’s urgency in wanting to know who was missing from their group, showing his concern for each individual’s well-being.
1 Samuel 14:17 reminds us of the importance of looking out for one another in times of need and being aware of who is missing from our spiritual community. Christians can apply this by actively checking in on fellow believers, offering support and encouragement, and ensuring that no one is left behind or feeling isolated.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, help us to be attentive to those who may be missing from our midst and to reach out with love and care. Guide us to be a source of strength and support for our brothers and sisters in Christ. Amen.
