“Both of them revealed themselves to the garrison of the Philistines: and the Philistines said, “Behold, the Hebrews are coming out of the holes where they had hidden themselves!”” – 1 Samuel 14:11
When I read this verse, I am reminded of the bravery and courage displayed by Jonathan and his armor-bearer as they stepped out in faith against the Philistines, trusting in God’s power to deliver them.
1 Samuel 14:11 shows us that sometimes God calls us to step out of our comfort zones and reveal ourselves to the world, even when it seems risky or challenging. As Christians, we can apply this by being bold in our faith, standing firm in the face of opposition, and trusting that God is with us every step of the way. Just as Jonathan’s actions brought victory to the Israelites, our obedience and faithfulness can lead to powerful testimonies of God’s goodness and faithfulness in our own lives.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, give us the courage and faith to step out boldly in obedience to Your will, even when it may seem daunting or risky. Help us to trust in Your power to overcome any obstacles we may face, knowing that You are always by our side. May our lives be a testimony to Your faithfulness and love. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
