“Elkanah her husband said to her, “Do what seems good to you. Wait until you have weaned him; only may Yahweh establish his word.”
So the woman waited and nursed her son, until she weaned him.” – 1 Samuel 1:23
When I read this verse, I imagine the tender bond between a mother and her child, full of patience and love.
1 Samuel 1:23 reminds us of the importance of waiting on God’s timing and trusting His promises. Elkanah encourages Hannah to nurture her son until the right moment, emphasizing that the fulfillment of God’s word will come to pass. Similarly, we are called to be patient in our own lives, recognizing that there are seasons for everything and that God is orchestrating our circumstances for His glory.

Dear Lord, help me to wait on Your timing and trust in Your plans for my life. May I find peace in the process, knowing that You are faithful to establish Your word. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
