“Samuel said to the people, “Don’t be afraid. You have indeed done all this evil; yet don’t turn away from following Yahweh, but serve Yahweh with all your heart.” – 1 Samuel 12:20
When I read this verse, I am struck by Samuel’s reminder to the people that despite their wrongdoing, they should not give up on serving the Lord wholeheartedly.
1 Samuel 12:20 reminds us that even when we fall short and make mistakes, we should not be afraid to come before the Lord with repentant hearts and continue to follow Him faithfully. We are called to serve God with all our hearts, regardless of our past failures, knowing that His grace is sufficient for us.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, help us to always remember that Your mercy is greater than our mistakes. Give us the strength to serve You wholeheartedly, even in the face of our failures. May we find comfort in Your forgiveness and grace as we strive to follow You faithfully each day. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
