Daily Devotional – 1 Samuel 10:21 – August 26, 2024

“He brought the tribe of Benjamin near by their families; and the family of the Matrites was chosen. Then Saul the son of Kish was chosen; but when they looked for him, he could not be found.” – 1 Samuel 10:21

When I read this verse, I am reminded of how God orchestrates events and selects individuals for specific purposes, even when they seem unlikely candidates.

1 Samuel 10:21 shows us that God’s ways are not always what we expect. Sometimes, He chooses individuals who may seem insignificant or unlikely candidates for a particular task. As Christians, we can trust that God knows our potential and has a unique plan for each of us. We should be open to His leading and obedient to His calling, even if it seems unconventional or unexpected.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, help us to trust in Your wisdom and guidance, even when Your plans for us may seem unconventional. Give us the faith to obediently follow Your leading, knowing that You have chosen us for a specific purpose. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
