“and every spirit who doesn’t confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God, and this is the spirit of the Antichrist, of whom you have heard that it comes. Now it is in the world already.” – 1 John 4:3
When I read this verse, I imagine a spiritual battle taking place, where the truth of Christ stands firm against the deceit of falsehood.
1 John 4:3 reminds us that acknowledging the incarnation of Jesus Christ is crucial to our faith. It warns us of the presence of the Antichrist spirit, which seeks to lead us away from the truth of who Jesus is. As Christians, we must be vigilant in discerning teachings and beliefs that contradict the core tenets of our faith, anchoring ourselves in the truth of Christ’s life, death, and resurrection.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, help me to constantly seek and recognize the truth of Your Son, Jesus Christ, in my life. Strengthen my faith so that I may discern between Your truth and the misleading spirits of the world. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
