“and whatever we ask, we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight.” – 1 John 3:22
When I read this verse, I picture a loving parent who delights in fulfilling their child’s requests when those requests align with their good intentions and values. 1 John 3:22 reminds us that our relationship with God is rooted in obedience and a desire to please Him. When we keep His commandments, we open our hearts to receive His blessings, aligning our requests with His will. As Christians, we can apply this by reflecting on our motivations, ensuring that our desires are not just for our benefit but also in harmony with God’s purposes for our lives.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, help me to align my heart with Yours, so that my requests reflect a desire to please You. May I seek to live in obedience to Your commandments, trusting that You hear and answer my prayers. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
