“Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life remaining in him.” – 1 John 3:15
When I read this verse, I am struck by the weight of love and the seriousness of our relationships with one another.
1 John 3:15 reminds us that harboring hatred in our hearts can lead us down a dark path, equating it to the act of murder itself. This powerful analogy urges us to examine our hearts and recognize that unresolved anger and bitterness can destroy our spiritual lives. As Christians, we are called to embody love and forgiveness, which means actively letting go of hatred and embracing our brothers and sisters in Christ with grace.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, help me to recognize and root out any hatred or bitterness within my heart. Fill me with Your love so I can treat others with kindness and compassion. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
