“I have not written to you because you don’t know the truth, but because you know it, and because no lie is of the truth.” – 1 John 2:21
When I read this verse, I envision a wise teacher addressing a group of eager students, emphasizing the importance of understanding and holding onto the truth amidst a world filled with deception.
1 John 2:21 reminds us that the truth is not merely an abstract concept but a deeply personal knowledge we possess as believers. John’s encouragement serves as a call to recognize the lies that may creep into our lives and to stand firm in the truth we know through Christ. As Christians, we are called to engage with this truth actively, grounding our beliefs and actions in the knowledge of who Jesus is and what He has done for us.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, thank You for the truth that sets us free and guides our lives. Help us to discern the lies that surround us and to hold fast to the truth of Your Word. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
