“Brothers, don’t be children in thoughts, yet in malice be babies, but in thoughts be mature.” – 1 Corinthians 14:20
When I read this verse, I envision a wise elder who navigates the complexities of life with discernment, while retaining a childlike innocence in matters of negativity and malice.
1 Corinthians 14:20 reminds us that while we should strive for maturity in our thoughts and understanding, we must approach malice and negativity with the purity and innocence of a child. This duality calls us to engage thoughtfully and wisely with the world around us, avoiding the pitfalls of bitterness and resentment that can cloud our judgment and relationships. As Christians, we are encouraged to cultivate wisdom and discernment in our actions and decisions while embodying love and forgiveness in our interactions with others.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, help me to grow in maturity of thought and to approach life with a heart free from malice. May I reflect Your love in all my interactions, embodying the innocence of a child. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
