Daily Devotional – 1 Corinthians 11:23 – January 08, 2026

“For I received from the Lord that which also I delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night in which he was betrayed took bread.” – 1 Corinthians 11:23

When I read this verse, I am reminded of the profound vulnerability that Jesus displayed on the night He was betrayed, sharing a meal with those who would soon abandon Him. 1 Corinthians 11:23 reflects the depth of Christ’s love and the significance of the Last Supper as an act of communion and remembrance. This passage invites us to consider the importance of sharing in fellowship and recognizing the sacrifices made for us. As Christians, we are called to remember the grace and love of Jesus, allowing it to guide our interactions and relationships with others.

To apply this verse in our lives, we can prioritize moments of communion with fellow believers, whether through sharing meals, participating in church gatherings, or simply reaching out to one another in support and love. By reflecting on the sacrifice of Christ, we can cultivate a spirit of gratitude and service, ensuring that our actions mirror His example of humility and compassion. Let us also remember to extend forgiveness and grace, just as we have received it from Him.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, thank You for the sacrifice You made for us and for the reminder of Your love through the Last Supper. Help me to live in a way that honors Your gift, fostering unity and love among my brothers and sisters in Christ. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
