“They didn’t say, ‘Where is Yahweh who brought us up out of the land of Egypt,
who led us through the wilderness,
through a land of deserts and of pits,
through a land of drought and of the shadow of death,
through a land that no one passed through,
and where no man lived?’” – Jeremiah 2:6
When I read this verse, I imagine a journey through a barren wilderness, where the struggle for survival is palpable and the presence of God feels distant.
**Jeremiah 2:6** reflects the lament of God over His people who forget His mighty acts and the guidance He provided during their times of need. This passage serves as a reminder of how easily we can overlook God’s faithfulness in our lives, especially when we find ourselves in challenging circumstances. As Christians, we can apply this lesson by making a conscious effort to remember and acknowledge God’s past provisions and guidance, especially during our trials, so that we do not take His presence for granted.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, help me to remember the times you have led me through challenges and provided for my needs. May I always recognize your presence in my life, especially in difficult moments. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
