“Jesus said to them,
“Come after me, and I will make you into fishers for men.”” – Mark 1:17
When I read this verse, I imagine a serene lakeside where a group of fishermen leave their nets behind to follow a man who promises to change their lives.
Mark 1:17 reminds us of the transformative call of Jesus in our lives. He invites us to leave our old ways behind and embark on a mission that goes beyond ourselves—reaching out to others and sharing the love of Christ. As followers of Jesus, we are called to actively engage in spreading the good news, becoming “fishers for men” in our communities, workplaces, and families.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, help me to be bold in my faith and willing to share the message of Your love with those around me. Equip me to be a fisher of men, guiding others to You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
