Daily Devotional – 1 Samuel 3:3 – October 24, 2025

“and God’s lamp hadn’t yet gone out, and Samuel had laid down in Yahweh’s temple, where God’s ark was;” – 1 Samuel 3:3

When I read this verse, I imagine the quiet, sacred space of the temple, illuminated by the soft glow of God’s lamp, symbolizing His presence and guidance amidst the stillness of the night.

1 Samuel 3:3 reminds us that even in moments of stillness and solitude, God is ever-present and waiting to speak to us. Samuel’s willingness to rest in the temple signifies a heart open to divine communication. As Christians, we are called to create spaces in our lives—both physically and spiritually—where we can listen for God’s voice and receive His guidance.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, help us to find moments of quiet in our busy lives so we can hear Your voice clearly. May we always seek Your presence and be open to the ways You speak to us. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
