““They shall take away the ashes from the altar, and spread a purple cloth on it.” – Numbers 4:13
When I read this verse, I envision the careful preparations being made in the temple, emphasizing the importance of cleanliness and reverence in worship.
Numbers 4:13 reminds us of the significance of presenting ourselves and our offerings to God in a worthy manner. Just as the priests removed the ashes to prepare the altar, we too must shed the remnants of our past and come to God with a heart ready for renewal. This calls us to regularly examine our lives, discarding the burdens that weigh us down and making space for God’s presence and purpose.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, help me to let go of the ashes of my past and cleanse my heart as I come before You. May I always approach You with reverence and readiness to serve. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
