“He did that which was evil, because he didn’t set his heart to seek Yahweh.” – 2 Chronicles 12:14
When I read this verse, I picture a heart that is either drawn to God or wandering away from Him, illustrating the choice we face daily.
**2 Chronicles 12:14** reminds us that evil actions often stem from a heart not aligned with God’s will. This verse highlights the importance of intentionally seeking God to guide our decisions and actions. When we neglect this pursuit, we may easily stray into choices that do not honor Him.
As Christians, we can apply this verse by making a conscious effort to set our hearts on seeking God through prayer, reading Scripture, and engaging in community fellowship. By cultivating a relationship with Him, we can better discern His guidance and avoid the pitfalls of sin that arise when we drift away from His presence.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, help me to set my heart on seeking You each day. May my thoughts and actions reflect Your love and truth, guiding me away from evil. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
